[Quiet Reflections 2]

April 9, 2005 - See Narrative Below

"Quiet Reflections", Watercolor Painting
11" X 24" Fredrix Watercolor Canvas

This is a progression of photographs taken at intervals of about 2 hours as this quiet north woods scene is developed. Carl makes an annual trip to the north woods of Minnesota each summer. Each night at sunset Carl shoots a collecition of photos. This shot was taken about 15 minutes before the shot he used for "Day's End", an acrylic painting he did a few months ago.

Carl likes the drama in the vivid colors of this image. He believe watercolor is a media that will work to create the pure colors of the sky and water. He's heard about the new watercolor canvas and decided to use this project to try something new.

This project is being painted on an 11" X 24" Fredrix Watercolor Canvas Board.

This project is an original watercolor painting based on a photograph Carl took in the north woods of Minnesota on Pelican Lake near Orr..
