This is another art project that represented more of a craft than a painting. The piece is an extremely accurate representation of some trees seen off of the cabin deck at Carl's favorite fishing hole (this is part pen and ink and part acrylic). The lake in the background is Pelican Lake near Orr, MN. In June 2002 there were some wildfires burning in Southern Canada and places throughout the United States. Coupled with unsettled summertime weather nature painted some beautiful sunset scenes night after night. Shortly after shooting the photo for this piece Carl settled back to enjoy the fireflies off the deck.
