Carl says that Acrylic seems to be surfacing as his favorite medium. It is no wonder then that he took what was supposed to be a demonstration in oil and attempted to do it in acrylic. And he got remarkable results, as you can see. Carl has been intrigued by the paintings of wildlife done by Kalon Baughan. Mr. Baughan provides several demonstra-
tions in one of his books about how to paint wildlife using a drybrush technique to develop textured fur without actually drawing each hair. This painting helped Carl learn several new things about art. It started when he did a pencil sketch of the cat on a canvas (he had never before tried to draw with a pencil on canvas). Another first was the solid type background around the cat.
