"Quiet Reflections", Watercolor Painting
11" X 24" Fredrix Watercolor Canvas

It is done. Although Carl doesn't like the way this painting turned out, he says it was a valuable learning experience working with watercolors, trying some new techniques. This evening he finished the painting by adding Hooker's Green to the tree line above the shore, and adding some lighter areas to the clouds.

Carl has been playing a little with colored pencils between his painting sessions, and he has some pastel sticks in his supply collection to try. But right now he's in a place of indecision between projects. He said he's leaning toward starting another oil painting on canvas, so we'll see how that goes.

Usually during June, as Carl gets ready for his annual fishing trip to the North Woods of Minnesota, he isn't very productive with his artwork. This year his best friend is getting married late in June, and Carl's fishing trip has been postponed July.

Carl said tonight that he hopes that putting his artwork up here as he creates it is somehow helpful to those who visit the site, even when what he does isn't a masterpiece. If you have been following along with this project be sure to drop him an email and let him know.

This project is being painted on an 11" X 24" Fredrix Watercolor Canvas Board.

This project is an original watercolor painting based on a photograph Carl took in the north woods of Minnesota on Pelican Lake near Orr..
