Cougar, Acrylic During this session Carl saw a need to add some lighter underpainting to develop a foundation to put later layers of color on. In this shot you can see some of Carl's experiments with the different gray shades, warm and cool, to learn what mixing will be required later in the painting. Notice how the sketch is being brought forward with the underpainting. This project is taken from a book authored by Kalon Baughan, "Painting the Faces of Wildlife"
