"Alice Lake", Oil Painting It is Finished! After looking at the painting after the last session Carl decided it just wasn't quite right. So tonight he fixed a couple of things that kept pulling his eyes where he didn't want the viewer to go. Now it is done. With 52 hours of painting this project has taken Carl longer than any other painting he has attempted. Carl said tonight he had learned a great deal in creating this piece. Among other things unique to this painting, Carl was able to get much finer detail than he has ever achieved before with oil. He also played with leading the eye to the place on the painting he wanted the viewer to look, pulling it away from more abstract areas. So, with a final brush stroke tonight Carl completed this canvas. An original 18" X 24" oil painting on stretched canvas using Winsor and Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oils. This project based on a photograph Carl's brother's brother-in-law Lee Eichelberger took while backpacking in Idaho.
