"Pasta Time" In addition to adding color to the onion in this evening's painting session, Carl began playing with the light reflections off of the sauce jar and the tomatoes. Then he did some reflections on the onion. Carl said he was trying to make the vegetables have more depth with kind of a 3D thing going on, to make them come alive. He is also still noticing how different watercolor is than acrylic (the last time he did watercolor was many months ago). One thing Carl is starting to notice is just how much fun he's going to have making the noodles on the counter come together. He chose a tri-color rotini type noodle for the still life photo he took. He noticed while sketching the rotini that even with its random placement there is considerable detail. It will be fun to see if Carl's watercolor talents will let him recreate the rotini in a realistic manner.
