In this shot you can see that Carl has begun to zero in on some of the colors and values to "bring the cat to life", but he still hasn't gotten the feel of the dry brush technique needed to create the fur. Carl says he feels like he's still chasing colors back and forth from one night to the next (he paints mainly in the evenings for a couple of hours after work).
